Regular Season Round 8: Esparreguera - Calvia 84-73

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Calvia (0-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Esparreguera (4-4) 84-73 on Sunday. Esparreguera looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Dani Fontanals (197-93) who scored 19 points. Guard Miquel Aliaga (189-99) chipped in 18 points. Power forward Jose-Maria Morales (204-89) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Esparreguera moved-up to seventh place in Group C-A, which they share with Valls Nutrion. Calvia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with eight games lost. Esparreguera will face Salt (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Calvia will play against Cornella and hopes to get finally their first victory.
