Regular Season Round 7: Sokol Pisek - GBA Europe 73-76

The most exciting game of round 7 in the U19 League took place in Pisek. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Sokol Pisek (4-4) to second ranked GBA Europe (7-1) 76-73 on Sunday evening. GBA Europe forced 19 Sokol Pisek turnovers and outrebounded them 45-23 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Seikou Sisoho-Jawara (190-0) fired 17 points and 9 assists for the winners. Forward Tomas Mikyska (167-0) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five GBA Europe players scored in double figures. GBA Europe's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Martin Svoboda (196-1) produced 30 points and 4 assists and guard Martin Strobl (178-2) added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. GBA Europe have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record behind leader USK Praha. Sokol Pisek at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Orli Prostejov and Kondori Liberec. GBA Europe are looking forward to face Snakes (#4) in Ostrava in the next round. Sokol Pisek will play on the road against Synthesia in Pardubice and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
