Regular Season Round 8: Novy Jicin - Olomouc Bbal 100-68

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Olomouc Bbal (6-2) against fourth ranked Novy Jicin (5-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Olomouc Bbal was crushed by Novy Jicin in Novy Jicin 100-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Olomouc Bbal. They outrebounded Olomouc Bbal 46-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Novy Jicin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Tadeas Janik (201-94) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Daniel Szarowski (182-99) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Novy Jicin's coach David Hajek felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Adam Urbanek (196-93) produced 28 points and forward Radek Jurka (192-95) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Novy Jicin moved-up to third place in East. Loser Olomouc Bbal keeps the second position with two games lost. Novy Jicin will meet SKB Zlin (#4) on the road in the next round. Olomouc Bbal will play against Vysocina and hope to secure a win.
