Regular Season Round 7: Skallagrimur - Keflavik 95-97

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Dominos League took place in Borganes. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Skallagrimur (2-5) to second ranked Keflavik (6-1) 97-95 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Skallagrimur helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) fired 26 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists. American forward Aundre Jackson (196-95, college: Loyola, IL) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (192-93) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Keflavik have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Njardvik and Tindastoll. Skallagrimur lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Grindavik and Thor Thorl. Keflavik is looking forward to face Haukar (#7) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Skallagrimur will play on the road against Thor Thorl in Thorlakshofn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
