Very expected game in Kaunas where 11th ranked Jonava (5-9) was defeated by sixth ranked Zalgiris II (7-6) 92-84 on Friday. Zalgiris II outrebounded Jonava 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Swingman Lukas Uleckas (199-99) stepped up and scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Rokas Jokubaitis (192-0) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Kersis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-95, college: Ark.-Fort Smith) scored 14 points. Four Zalgiris II and five Jonava players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Zalgiris II went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Silute. Jonava lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. Zalgiris II will face higher ranked Telsiai (#6) in Telsiu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jonava will play at home against Vytis (#3) and hope to win that game.
