The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Shockers (1-1) in Nassau on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Stingers (2-0) 87-62. Stingers forced 20 Shockers turnovers and outrebounded them 67-39 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Stingers made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was international guard Abel Joseph (200-90) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Torrington Cox (201-85, college: King) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Stingers players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Shakewon Lewis (178-96) produced 13 points and Adam Johnson added 5 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
