There was an upset when higher ranked Aridane (3-6) lost to fifteenth ranked Estudio (2-6) in Madrid 79-85 on Saturday. It was a good game for forward Gabriel Rodriguez (199-90) who led his team to a victory with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Juan Llorente (192-93) contributed with 7 points and 9 assists for the winners. Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Corey Raley-Ross (191-91, college: Buffalo) added 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Aridane. Four Aridane players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Estudio moved-up to fourteenth place in Group B, which they share with Liceo Frances. Newly promoted Aridane dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Estudio will face higher ranked Quintanar (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
