Regular Season Round 3: Belgorod - Jugla 68-45

The most surprising game was a loss of Latvian Jugla (4-1) on the court of Russian Belgorod on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Belgorod 68-45. The game was mostly controlled by Belgorod. Jugla managed to win third quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Jugla to just 6 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Belgorod dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Jugla's 24. They outrebounded Jugla 38-20 including a 24-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Vitaly Eremenko (-3) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Egor Shchedrin contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Davis Sveiders (-3) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Ritvars Viteks (-3) added 10 points in the effort for Jugla. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
