Regular Season Round 7: KOS - Deutsch-Wagram 86-78

Bottom-ranked Deutsch-Wagram (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-78 loss to tenth ranked KOS (3-4) in Klagenfurt on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 22-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. KOS looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Slovenian center Jaka Stemberger (201-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Slovenian forward Erik Kralj (190-97) helped adding 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four KOS players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Paul Rotter (190-0) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and center David Rados (202-99) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Deutsch-Wagram's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. KOS moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Deutsch-Wagram lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. KOS will meet Mustangs (#7) in the next round. Deutsch-Wagram will play against UBC St. Polten (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
