Regular Season Round 10: Unics-2 - Samara-2 70-57

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Samara-2's (5-7) road loss to sixth ranked Unics-2 (6-4) in Kazan 57-70 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Unics-2. Samara-2 was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Samara-2's 30. Unics-2 forced 22 Samara-2 turnovers. Samara-2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Vadim Kudinov (194-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Artem Ivanov (193-98) contributed with 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Danila Chikarev (196-1) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Kiril Frolov (185-99) added 15 points in the effort for Samara-2. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics-2 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. Loser Samara-2 keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Unics-2 will face Avtodor-2 (#6) in Saratov in the next round. Samara-2 will play on the road against N.Novgorod-2 in Nizhny Novgorod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
