Regular Season Round 9: Rapid - Agronomia Buc. 82-64

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bucuresti: Rapid (#7) and Agronomia Buc. (#8). Rapid (4-5) crushed visiting Agronomia Buc. (2-7) by 18 points 82-64. The game was mostly controlled by Rapid. Agronomia Buc. managed to win third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bogdan Sandu (201-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Mikey Hope (186, college: Adams St.) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Rapid players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Hara Visan with 22 points and point guard Gheorghe Balmus (180-92) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rapid moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Miercurea Ciuc. Agronomia Buc. lost seventh consecutive game. Agronomia Buc. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Rapid is looking forward to face higher ranked Focsani (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Agronomia Buc.'s supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bucuresti to the arena Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti.
