Regular Season Round 15: Ereliai Mazeikiai - Palanga 71-92

NKL top team - Palanga (10-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (5-10) 92-71. Palanga dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ereliai Mazeikiai's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Ereliai Mazeikiai's players. It was a great evening for American point guard Jalen Riley (182-93, college: E.Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Tautvydas Paliukenas (193-96, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American swingman Quinton Campbell (197-93, college: S.Mississippi) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ereliai Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Palanga have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-3 record. Ereliai Mazeikiai at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Palanga will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ereliai Mazeikiai will play again on the road against the league's leader Palanga (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
