Very predictable result in Breitenguessbach where fourth ranked TSV Troester (6-4) smashed 11th ranked Jena II (3-7) 88-61 on Saturday. TSV Troester dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Jena II's 38. They outrebounded Jena II 40-24 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jena II was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Erik Land (205-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Power forward Lucas Wagner (200-94) helped adding 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Melvin Jostmann (200-0) responded with 16 points and Jan-Philipp Becker (190-0) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSV Troester moved-up to third place in South-East, which they share with Treuchtlingen and Schwabing. Jena II lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. TSV Troester will face Bamberg (#6) on the road in the next round. Jena II will play against Muenchen OSB (#8) and hope to win that game.
