Regular Season Round 19: Toyota Alvark - Kyoto Hannar. 85-82

The most exciting game of round 19 in the B League took place in Tokyo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Kyoto Hannar. (11-8) to third ranked Toyota Alvark (12-7) 85-82 on Saturday evening. Toyota Alvark dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kyoto Hannar.'s 36. They outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 38-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The former international Daiki Tanaka (191-91) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defending champion maintains third place with 12-7 record behind leader Tochigi Brex. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side dropped to the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Kawasaki BT and Toyama Grouses. Toyota Alvark are looking forward to face league's leader Niigata Albirex on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Akita Happinets and is hoping to win this game.
