Leader Geneve Lions delivered the eighth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Monthey (4-4) 78-68. The best player for the winners was American forward Markel Humphrey (198-87, college: Marshall) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. American-Armenian guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Armenian forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and American center Kenny Frease (213-89, college: Xavier) added 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Geneve Lions (8-1) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Monthey at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Lugano Tigers. Geneve Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Monthey will play at home against Starwings (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
