Very expected game in Los Llanos where 12th ranked Aridane (3-7) was edged by fifth ranked Tenerife Naut. (7-3) 106-103 on Saturday. Tenerife Naut. made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Aridane outrebounded Tenerife Naut. 43-16 including a 18-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Danish center Sami Eleraky (213-93, college: Pacific) scored 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jorge Del-Pino (189-96) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Tenerife Naut.'s coach Santi Lucena used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Billy McDonald (198-94, college: Caldwell) scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Tenerife Naut. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Guadalajara. Aridane lost third consecutive game. Aridane at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face league's second-placed Alcobendas at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Aridane will play against Quintanar (#8) and hope to win that game.
