Regular Season Round 9: Omegna - Vigevano 67-62

Rather predictable result when first ranked Omegna (8-1) defeated at home 5th ranked Vigevano (5-4) 67-62 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (203-93) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and point guard Carlo Cantone (185-85) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Daniele-Mario Benzoni (195-80) with 13 points and 4 assists and point guard Lorenzo Panzini (185-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Vigevano players scored in double figures. Omegna maintains first place in B with 8-1 record, which they share with Faenza. Newly promoted Vigevano dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Omegna will face Alba (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vigevano will play against San Miniato (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
