Extraliga top team - MBK Ruzomberok (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Slovan (1-7) 109-36. MBK Ruzomberok held Slovan to an opponent 21.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.6 percent accuracy of the winners. MBK Ruzomberok forced 21 Slovan turnovers and outrebounded them 58-19 including a 23-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Slovan's players. The winners were led by American guard Chucky Jeffery (178-91, college: Colorado) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and Lithuanian power forward Egle Siksniute (198-91) supported her with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Five MBK Ruzomberok players scored in double figures. MBK Ruzomberok's coach Juraj Suja felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 5 points and 5 rebounds by center Renata Talajkova (190-81) did not help to save the game for Slovan. Lucia Luttmerdingova (174-99) added 6 points for the guests. MBK Ruzomberok have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Slovan at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. MBK Ruzomberok will meet at home bottom-ranked Banska Bystrica (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slovan will play against Samorin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
