Regular Season Round 16: Silute - Perlas 96-99

The most exciting game of round 16 in the NKL took place in Silute. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Silute (8-7) to seventh ranked Perlas (7-8) 99-96 on Sunday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Perlas made 7 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Silute helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Deividas Sirvydis (200-0) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Marek Blazevic (207-1) who added 16 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Evaldas Dziaugys (196-96) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Mantas Serksnas (200-96, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 23 points. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Perlas went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with Zalgiris II and Taurages. Silute at the other side dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Neptunas-Akv.. Perlas is looking forward to face Zalgiris II (#10) in Kaunas in the next round. Silute will play on the road against Jonava (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
