Everything could happen in Trieste at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Alma TR and 10th ranked MIA-RO Cantu had identical 3-4 record. This time Alma TR used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Cantu 102-82 on Sunday night. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 assists and guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) who added 16 points during the contest. Five Alma TR players scored in double figures. Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) responded with 31 points and 4 assists and guard Gerry Blakes (193-93, college: Arizona St.) scored 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alma TR (4-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Virtus Bologna and VL Pesaro. MIA-RO Cantu lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Alma TR will face higher ranked Vanoli Cremona (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MIA-RO Cantu will play against the league's leader Armani Milano (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
