Regular Season Round 9: SAM Brno - Sokol Pisek 57-107

Bottom-ranked SAM (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 107-57 loss to fifth ranked Sokol Pisek (6-4) in Brno. They made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game, while SAM only scored four points from the stripe. Sokol Pisek forced 35 SAM turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. SAM was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for swingman Martin Svoboda (196-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Martin Strobl (178-2) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. Simon Klein (189-2) answered with 17 points and Jonas Musil (195-2) added 7 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks in the effort for SAM. Sokol Pisek moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Snakes Ostrava. SAM lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Sokol Pisek will play against Sokol Prazsky (#6) in Praha in the next round. SAM will play on the road against Synthesia (#10) in Pardubice and hopes to get finally their first victory.
