There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Elitzur Ramla (2-2) beat on the road 5th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (2-2) 69-61. Elitzur Ramla made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Maccabi Ashdod turnovers. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was guard Allisha Gray (183-95, college: S.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Allison Hightower (178-88, college: LSU, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Center Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Victoria Vivians (185-94, college: Mississippi St.) added 14 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Elitzur Ramla moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Maccabi Ashdod. Elitzur Ramla's next round opponent will be higher ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (#3) in Ramat Hen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ashdod will play at home against B.Yehuda and hope to win that game.
