Regular Season Round 15: Shanghai - Heilongjiang 86-67

Everything could happen in Shanghai at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Swordfish and 10th ranked Dragons had identical 7-7 record. This time Swordfish used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Daqing 86-67 on Tuesday night. Swordfish dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Dragons' 36. It was a great evening for Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: BeoBasket) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international Jing Huang (183-85) helped adding 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was the former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Jiahe Zhang (182-94) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Dragons players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Swordfish. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Henan and Hebei. Dragons at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Swordfish will meet at home Liaoning Hengye (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dragons will play against Jiangsu Phoenix in Nanjing and hope to secure a win.
