A very interesting game took place in Athens. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Marousi (3-4) to fourth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (5-2) 72-69 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Amyntas Dafnis forced 20 Marousi turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Marousi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Andriano Topalis (190-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. Power forward Panagiotis Koukounias (201-88) contributed with 7 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Chris Likogiannis (198-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Ioannis Michaloutsos (204-97, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points in the effort for Marousi. Amyntas Dafnis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ermis Agias. Marousi at the other side keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Amyntas Dafnis' next round opponent will be Evropi (#11) in Pefkohori and are hoping to win another game. Marousi will play at home against Karditsas and hope to win that game.
