Regular Season Round 5: Astana Tigers - PINKK-Pecsi 67-52

Kazakhstan Astana Tigers' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Hungarian PINKK-Pecsi (0-5) 67-52. It looked good early as PINKK-Pecsi took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Astana Tigers had a 22-11 second period charge getting the lead and PINKK-Pecsi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 52-67. They outrebounded PINKK-Pecsi 45-31 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) stepped up and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and center Nadezhda Kondrakova (190-89) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Astana Tigers players scored in double figures. Astana Tigers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Zsofia Jahni (188-99) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and center Lilla Zsilinszky (190-95) scored 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Defending Kazakhstan champion maintains thirteenth place with 1-4 record. It was PINKK-Pecsi's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost.
