Regular Season Round 11: Marbella - Coin 82-60

There was no surprise when 4th placed Coin (4-4) was crushed on the road by leader Marbella (9-0) 82-60 on Saturday. Marbella outrebounded Coin 42-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Bruno Diatta (208-96) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. American swingman Charles Knowles (196-93, college: William Penn) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Five Marbella players scored in double figures. Forward Pablo Ibanez (198-93) produced 15 points and center Chema Del Rio (203-91) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Coin's coach Pablo Bernabe gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Marbella have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group D-A with 9-0 record. Loser Coin dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Marbella will face Almeria (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Coin will play against Unicaja-Andalucia in Malaga and hope to win that game.
