Regular Season Round 11: Vic - Menorca 91-92

Very expected game when 12th ranked Vic (2-8) was edged at home by eighth ranked Menorca (4-6) 92-91 on Saturday. Vic was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Jan Orfila (207-86) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Andreu Matali (204-81) chipped in 18 points. Four Menorca players scored in double figures. Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-94, college: N.C.Central) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Julian Garrote (185-82) added 17 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Menorca maintains eighth place in Silver with 4-6 record. Vic at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Menorca will face league's leader Real Murcia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vic will play against Albacete (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
