No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Slovakian Young Angels (3-2) beat 13th ranked Kazakhstan Astana Tigers (1-4) in Kosice 78-73 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Astana Tigers were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Young Angels made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Michaela Balazova (180-99) nailed 23 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and center Denisa Blanarova (186-97) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Zalina Kurazova (188-85) added 18 points respectively for Astana Tigers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Young Angels moved-up to fifth place. Defending Kazakhstan champion Astana Tigers keep the thirteenth position with four games lost.
