Regular Season Round 10: PuHu Juniorit - Karkkila 79-96

Rather predictable result in Vantaa where sixth ranked Karkkila (5-3) beat 9th ranked PuHu Juniorit (1-7) 96-79 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Karkkila. PuHu Juniorit was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karkkila forced 20 PuHu Juniorit turnovers. Guard Samuli Makela (178-99) fired 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Swingman Juha Anttila (200-96) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Guard Valtteri Leino (183-95) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Niki Ahola (201-98) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. PuHu Juniorit's coach Kari Kamppi let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Karkkila maintains sixth position in Division with 5-3 record. Loser PuHu Juniorit keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Karkkila will face higher ranked MuKi (#5) in Helsinki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. PuHu Juniorit will play at home against Aanekosken Huima (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
