Regular Season Round 10: FoKoPo - Lahti 90-104

Undefeated leader Lahti delivered the eighth consecutive victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Forssan Koripojat (2-6) 104-90. It looked good early as Forssan Koripojat took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lahti had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Forssan Koripojat was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 90-104. Lahti players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Jarred Jones (201-93, college: Loyola, MD) notched 27 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Henry Pwono (201-91, college: East Central) supported him with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds by center Gilbert Talbot (208-94, college: LSU-Alexandria) did not help to save the game for Forssan Koripojat. Guard Isaac Williams (195-94, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 27 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lahti maintains first position in Division with 8-0 record. Forssan Koripojat at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Lahti's next round opponent will be HBA-Marsky (#4) in Helsinki. Forssan Koripojat will play on the road against HNMKY (#8) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
