Regular Season Round 13: Lokomotiv-2 - Samara-2 81-71

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Lokomotiv-2 (11-5) defeated 6th ranked Samara-2 (6-10) in Krasnodar 81-71 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-71. Worth to mention a great performance of Andrey Matyuk (206-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Vladislav Yemchenko (190-99) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Filip Stoyko (200-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and center Victor Nesterov (202-99) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Samara-2. Four Samara-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lokomotiv-2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-5 record having just six point less than leader Khimki-2. Samara-2 at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Avtodor-2. Lokomotiv-2 are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Parma-2 (#11) in Perm in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Samara-2 will play at home against Spartak SP-2 (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
