Regular Season Round 13: Zenit-2 - Unics-2 67-75

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Zenit-2 (10-6) lost to fifth ranked Unics-2 (10-6) in Sankt Petersburg 67-75 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-67. Unics-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Zenit-2's 34. Worth to mention a great performance of Artem Ivanov (193-98) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Vadim Kudinov (194-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 18 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Kirill Shilin (195-0) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Vladimir Fomenko (-0) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Zenit-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unics-2 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Zenit-2. Unics-2 is looking forward to face Enisey-2 (#10) in Krasnoyarsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zenit-2 will play on the road against Avtodor-2 (#8) in Saratov and is hoping to win this game.
