Regular Season Round 11: Medias - Braila 156-39

There was no surprise when 4th placed Braila (2-5) was outleveled on the road by second ranked Medias (4-3) 156-39 on Friday. The game without a history. Medias led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Braila to just 7 points in third quarter. Medias dominated down low during the game scoring 106 of its points in the paint compared to Braila's 30. Medias forced 27 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. Medias looked well-organized offensively handing out 44 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Braila's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Medias made 8 blocks. Serbian Stefan Sajin (205-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Serbian Andrija Simovic (203-95) contributed with 25 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Medias players scored in double figures. Guard Florin Voiculet answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Alexandru Marin added 4 points in the effort for Braila. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Medias. Newly promoted Medias maintains second place with 4-3 record having four points less than leader Voluntari. Braila lost their fifth game in a row. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
