Regular Season Round 8: Bullets - United 97-94

A very close game took place in Brisbane between Bullets and United. Fourth ranked Bullets (7-6) got a very close home victory over second-ranked United (9-5). Bullets managed to escape with a 3-point win 97-94 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 28-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bullets dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to United's 34 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). The former international guard Jason Cadee (186-91) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. The former international forward David Barlow (205-83, college: Metro St.) produced 20 points and American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) added 17 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Five Bullets and four United players scored in double figures. Bullets have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-6 record. Defending champion United keeps the second place with five games lost. Bullets will meet at home Adelaide 36ers (#6) in the next round. United will play against the league's leader Perth Wildcats (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
