Regular Season Round 11: ToPo Juniorit - Porvoon Tarmo 91-60

Very predictable result when fourth ranked ToPo Juniorit (7-4) rolled over 12th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (1-9) in Helsinki 91-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ToPo Juniorit. Porvoon Tarmo was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ToPo Juniorit dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Porvoon Tarmo's 20. They outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 47-29 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. ToPo Juniorit looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (191-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Swingman Juuso Kauppinen (188-94) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. Guard Mirko Laitinen (192-0) answered with 17 points and forward Oscar Storgard (193-1) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Porvoon Tarmo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ToPo Juniorit maintains fourth place in Division with 7-4 record. Loser Porvoon Tarmo keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. ToPo Juniorit will face Forssan Koripojat (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Porvoon Tarmo will play against Oulun NMKY and hope to win that game.
