Regular Season Round 13: Giessen - Fellbach 85-61

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Giessen Pointers (6-6) rolled over at home 10th ranked Fellbach (4-8) 85-61 on Saturday. Giessen Pointers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fellbach's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Christopher Miller (192-93, college: Salem Intern.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominik Turudic (202-94) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Giessen Pointers players scored in double figures. Giessen Pointers' coach Daniel Doerr felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Slovenian point guard Matija Sagadin (183-84) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Fellbach. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Giessen Pointers. Newly promoted Giessen Pointers maintains sixth place in South-West with 6-6 record. Fellbach lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Giessen Pointers will face TV Langen (#9) on the road in the next round. Fellbach will play against Kaiserslautern and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
