Lithuanian SKM's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Riga, where they defeated Latvian BJBS/Ridzene (1-7) 51-36 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 35-17 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. SKM dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to BJBS/Ridzene's 14. SKM forced 24 BJBS/Ridzene turnovers. Staniulis, orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Oleskevic, contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Miks-Kristians Latiss (181-3) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Mariuss-Janis Jansons (188-3) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BJBS/Ridzene. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKM maintains sixteenth place with 1-7 record, which they share with defeated BJBS/Ridzene. SKM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BJBS/Ridzene will play at home against the league's leader Saule (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
