Regular Season Round 11: Neuchatel - Swiss Central 78-67

Date: December 8, 2018
Very expected game when 9th ranked Swiss Central (3-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Neuchatel (7-3) 78-67 on Saturday. Neuchatel looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Neuchatel made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Brian Savoy (186-92) who scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Jared Berggren (208-90, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Senegalese power forward Ibrahima Camara (206-94, college: New Hampshire) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Swiss Central's coach Danijel Eric rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Neuchatel maintains third place with 7-3 record behind leader Fribourg, which they share with Massagno. Loser Swiss Central keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Neuchatel will meet at home Monthey (#5) in the next round. Swiss Central will play against the league's second-placed Geneve Lions (#2) and hope to secure a win.
