The game between fourth ranked Swedish Hammarby (7-2) and 15th ranked Latvian East Ball (2-6) in Stockholm on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Hammarby outscored guests from Riga 75-36. The game without a history. Hammarby led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding East Ball to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 11 points in second half. Hammarby dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to East Ball's 16. They outrebounded East Ball 46-17 including a 27-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for Ahmed Mabrouk (-3) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Meron-Manna Bairu (-3) accounted for 9 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Aleksis Gaidamovics (-3) came up with 10 points and 4 assists and Davis Altrofs added 6 points respectively for East Ball in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hammarby have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 7-2 record. Loser East Ball dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Hammarby will meet at home higher ranked Valmiera (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. East Ball will play against Ogre (#6) and hope to secure a win.
