Regular Season Round 11: Medias - Braila 127-46

An interesting game for Medias (4-3) which hosted in Medias 4th placed Braila (2-5). Second ranked Medias had an easy win 127-46. The game without a history. Medias led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Braila to just 6 points in second quarter. Medias well out of reach of Braila shooting 71.2 percent from the field. They also forced 27 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 33-20 including a 20-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. Medias shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Braila's players. Radu Vrincian (-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Cornel Cioacata (197-92) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Medias players scored in double figures. Medias' coach Mihai Popa felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Florin Voiculet answered with 14 points and Alexandru Marin added 12 points in the effort for Braila. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Medias. Newly promoted Medias maintains second place with 4-3 record having four points less than leader Voluntari. Braila lost their fifth game in a row. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
