Very expected game when 9th ranked Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti (1-10) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Focsani (7-3) 76-47 on Saturday. The game without a history. Focsani led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti's 28. Focsani forced 23 Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti turnovers. American forward Kyle Kilgore (201, college: Dakota St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Cameron Cornelius (183-92, college: Missouri So.) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Octavian Serbanescu answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and center Nicolae-Marian Ciuca (200-99) added 13 points in the effort for Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Focsani maintains fourth place with 7-3 record. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti lost their fourth game in a row. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Focsani will face Univ.Cluj (#10) in Cluj Napoca in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti will play at home against Targu Jiu and hope to win that game.
