Regular Season Round 9: Keflavik - Thor Thorl 91-75

Very expected game when 9th ranked Thor Thorl (3-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Keflavik (7-2) 91-75 on Sunday. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kinu Rochford (200-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Halldor Hermannsson (188-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Keflavik. They maintain third place with 7-2 record behind leader Tindastoll. Thor Thorl lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Valur. Keflavik will meet Valur (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Thor Thorl will play against Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
