Very expected game when 16th ranked White Wings (2-11) were defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Schalke (5-6) 86-80 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Schalke shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. White Wings were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Center Bjoern Rohwer (213-95) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American Luquon Choice (190-93, college: Lincoln Memorial) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Dorian Pinson (196-96, college: Lincoln Memorial) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Schalke and five White Wings players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Schalke maintains eleventh place with 5-6 record. White Wings lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Schalke will face higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. White Wings will play against Gladiators (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
