Everything went according to plan when second ranked Salerno (9-2) defeated on the road 10th ranked Scauri (4-6) 72-66 on Sunday. Forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Salerno players scored in double figures. Salerno's coach Orlando Menduto used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Argentinian power forward Guillermo Laguzzi (204-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Antonio Gallo (188-0, agency: Players Group) added 12 points in the effort for Scauri. Salerno maintains second place in B with 9-2 record having just one point less than leader Fiorentina. Loser Scauri keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Salerno will face Viola RC (#4) in Reggio Calabria in the next round. Scauri will play at home against Capo d'Orlando (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
