Regular Season Round 6: Singapore S. - Zhuhai 99-77

Bottom-ranked Chinese Zhuhai is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to third ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (4-1) 99-77 on Sunday evening. Singapore Slingers dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Zhuhai's 44. Singapore Slingers forced 19 Zhuhai turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Zhuhai's players. American players dominated also this game. Guard Jerran Young (198-91, college: Wright St.) notched 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) supported him with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Singapore Slingers' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 23 points and 6 assists by point guard Eric Tisby (173-88, college: Sioux Falls) did not help to save the game for Zhuhai. Forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Singapore Slingers and five Zhuhai players scored in double figures. Singapore Slingers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Formosa D. Loser Zhuhai still closes the standings with seven games lost. Singapore Slingers will meet Saigon Heat (#4) on the road in the next round. Zhuhai will play against Saigon Heat (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
