The most exciting game of round 10 in the A2 took place in Thessaloniki. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Ionikos Nikaias (8-2) to first ranked Iraklis (9-1) 93-90 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ionikos Nikaias. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Iraklis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 34 personal fouls committed by Ionikos Nikaias helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Center Tasos Dimitriadis (204-82) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-81) added 15 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) in the effort for Ionikos Nikaias. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Iraklis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Newly promoted Ionikos Nikaias keeps the second place with two games lost. Iraklis are looking forward to face Ermis Agias (#3) in Larissa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ionikos Nikaias will play at home against Amyntas Dafnis and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
