Regular Season Round 10: Njardvik - Breidablik 108-103

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Breidablik (1-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Njardvik (9-1) 108-103. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Breidablik was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Njardvik made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Breidablik turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Breidablik's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Breidablik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) notched a triple-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and Croatian forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) did not help to save the game for Breidablik. Guard Hilmar Petursson (187-0) added 15 points and 6 assists for lost side. Five Njardvik and four Breidablik players scored in double figures. Njardvik have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tindastoll. Breidablik lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Njardvik's next round opponent will be Skallagrimur (#11) in Borganes and are hoping to win another game. Breidablik will play at home against KR and hope to win that game.
