An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Braila. First ranked Voluntari faced 4th placed Braila. Guests from (7-1) smashed host Braila (0-9) 126-29. The game without a history. Voluntari led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Braila to just 2 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Voluntari held Braila to an opponent 17.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Voluntari forced 32 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 67-25 including a 33-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Braila's players. American forward Aron Nwankwo (202-92, college: Pittsburgh) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and Mario Lazar (201-94) chipped in 14 points and 15 rebounds. Five Voluntari players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Florin Voiculet responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Cristian Surdu scored 5 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Voluntari maintains first place with 7-1 record. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Dinamo B.. Voluntari will meet league's second-placed Medias on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braila will play against Constanta and hopes to get finally their first victory.
