Regular Season Round 8: Mono Vampire - Formosa D. 89-74

Top ranked Taiwanese Formosa D. (6-2) recorded its second loss in Bangkok on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Thailand Mono Vampire (1-5) 89-74. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Formosa D.. Mono Vampire dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Formosa D.'s 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Filipino-American point guard Jason Brickman (181-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 assists. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Mono Vampire players scored in double figures. American guard Malcolm Miller (201-91, college: Southern) produced 27 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Tevin Glass (206-94, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mono Vampire maintains ninth position with 1-5 record. Formosa D. at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Mono Vampire are looking forward to face higher ranked Saigon Heat (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Formosa D. will play against the league's second-placed Singapore Slingers and will have a slim chance for a victory.
