Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Cartagena (1-8) was outscored on the road by first ranked Gandia (7-3) 91-64 on Saturday. Gandia forced 24 Cartagena turnovers. Cartagena was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for naturalized American center Shalawn Miller (205-74, college: Mass.-Lowell) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Alan Kleinjan (195-97) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Gandia players scored in double figures. Sudanese-American forward Aluk Adub (198-91, college: Florida Memorial) answered with 27 points and 8 rebounds and FYR Macedonian point guard Kiril Panov (188-0) added 12 points in the effort for Cartagena. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gandia. They maintain first place in Group E-B with 7-3 record. Cartagena lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Gandia will face UCAM Murcia II (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cartagena will play against the league's second-placed Benidorm (#2) and hope to win that game.
